Easiest Cold Brew At Home

Whether you’re Starbucks card is constantly running low or you just want to learn how to make deliciously powerful cold brew at home, this recipe will save you time, money, and peace of mind.

Yield: 32oz

INGREDIENTS:

DIY Cold Brew:

  • 1 cup (82g) whole coffee beans, coarsely ground

  • 4 cups (950g) filtered water

  • 1 tbsp vanilla (optional)

  • 1 tsp salt (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Steeping Method:

  1. Grind coffee beans, leaving it relatively coarse. If you don't have a grinder, ask a local roaster to grind their beans on the coarsest setting.

  2. Pour the grounds in a quart-sized mason jar or 32oz vessel that can be covered with plastic wrap. If adding a additional flavorings, do so now.

  3. Pour in 2 cups of hot water evenly over the beans, stir and let it sit for 1 minute. Add remaining 2 cups of ice water.

  4. Once cooled down stir, and leave in the fridge or countertop for 12-48hrs hours covered.

  5. Remove from the fridge, pour through fine-mesh strainer over a bowl with a spread of cheesecloth OR Pour through the filter of a pour-over.

    (Note) If the coffee is stronger than you'd like, dilute it with water, cream or milk.
